- Pay Range: $24.00 – $32.00/hour + DOE (Flexibility to hire at different levels based on experience)
The Role
Torus is seeking a Press Brake Operator to join our production team this role, you will not just watch a machine run—you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and precision optimization of high-end, state-of-the-art automated fabrication equipment, including automated panel benders, and precision press brakes.
This role requires strong technical aptitude, blueprint-reading expertise, experience working with sheet metal, and the ability to troubleshoot complex machine setups to ensure efficient, high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, calibrate, program, and operate advanced CNC sheet metal fabrication equipment (panel benders and press brakes).
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and flat-pattern layouts to execute accurate part production.
- Monitor machine performance, make real-time adjustments to cutting/bending parameters, and troubleshoot structural or mechanical variances.
- Conduct structural quality checks on finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and protractors to ensure strict adherence to tolerances.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery to maximize operational uptime and safety.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and floor supervisors to optimize material yields and continuous improvement targets.
- 1–5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting within a precision metal fabrication environment.
- Proven proficiency in reading and interpreting structural engineering drawings, welding symbols, and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal properties, bend allowances, and precision measuring tools (calipers, height gauges, etc.).
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability regarding machine error codes or material defects.
