Salt Lake City/Grantsville, UT Hiring for multiple levels of Industrial Engineers on all shifts.
The Industrial Engineer supports the Industrial Engineering team in planning, designing, implementing, and optimizing integrated production and service systems. This role is responsible for improving operational performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, and cost efficiency across the manufacturing site. The Industrial Engineer analyzes workflows, production methods, and operational processes to identify the most effective sequence of operations and maximize the utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
Whatwill you do?
Monitor and continuously improve quality and operational efficiency within assigned areas. Design, develop, and support procurement of production tooling, equipment, and workstations. Coordinate facility layouts and workstation relocations to meet production requirements. Conduct time studies and develop cost estimates for proposed projects and process improvements. Optimize equipment and production changeover processes through standardization of setups and work methods. Ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed according to established schedules.
Analyze production data and implement corrective actions to reduce machine-generated scrap. Drive process improvements to minimize manual assembly scrap and improve product quality. Evaluate workforce utilization, facility layouts, production costs, process flows, and schedules to identify efficiency opportunities. Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives throughout manufacturing operations. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, health, environmental, and security policies and procedures.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
- Experience applying industrial engineering principles in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
- Experience conducting process analysis, workflow optimization, time studies, and continuous improvement activities preferred.
- Working knowledge of industrial engineering tools and methodologies, including:
Work measurement Process mapping Facility and workstation design - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to analyze operational and production data to drive process improvements.
- Understanding of organizational strategy and how manufacturing operations support business objectives.
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments, production systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Internship, co-op, or professional experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing setting preferred.
