Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
We are a level IV NICU and a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center which is ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the United States, providing specialized care for more than 1 million children living in a 400,000 square‑mile service area and beyond.
Two hundred medical specialties care for nearly 500 babies each year in our beautiful new unit with 51 private room beds. More than 65% of our babies are unique to our PCH NICU – meaning the care cannot be provided anywhere else in Utah or many of the surrounding states. We offer amazing education in the areas of Cardiac, Respiratory, Surgical, Neurological and VLBW and ECMO care for the variety of patients we see.
There are many opportunities for advancement and learning here.
Our NICU follows PCH mission “The Child First and Always” making the safety and healing of our NICU babies our central focus. We foster a culture of collaboration, clinical excellence and psychological safety and teamwork. We strongly believe in caring for each other, as we care for our patients.
Our typical caregiver to patient ratio is 1:1 and 1:2 depending upon acuity. If you are seeking to join a highly engaged team of caregivers who work together to support each other in providing excellent care for our NICU babies, this may be the right place for you!
