Position Overview
This full‑time Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care within the ED, coordinating care planning with other disciplines. The role evaluates outcomes, consults with specialists as required, and adjusts nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient care. The RN performs a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients, uses triage processes to prioritize care and assigns triage categories accurately. Communication with ED physicians regarding patient status and results of diagnostic studies is essential.
Nurses respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Performs a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.
- Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizes appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educates patients and families regarding pain management.
- Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients and accurately assigns triage categories.

- 2 years of ED experience required.
- Current RN license in the state of practice.
- Current BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire.
- PALS certification within six months of hire.
- ENPC and TNCC certifications are optional.
