Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, utilizing technology, evidence‑based practice, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health team.

• Perform appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, including cognitive and developmental skills.
• Seek and evaluate information from team members, patients, and families.
• Use assessment data and critical thinking to develop individualized plans of care with collaborative input.
• Provide or delegate care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines, and licensure provisions.
• Set priorities and coordinate patient care delivery, managing time, supplies, and resources.
• Evaluate response to interventions, revise plan of care, and reassess changes as needed.
• Promote the nursing profession and participate in the development of others.
• Integrate legal and ethical standards, comply with regulatory standards, practice within scope of licensure, and provide accurate documentation.
