PS CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
The University of Utah Health Sciences seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide patient‑focused perioperative anesthesia care, including preoperative evaluation, anesthesia induction, intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative recovery.
Benefits
:
Total compensation ranges from $302,000 to $324,000 annually, including a 14.2% employer contribution to your 401(k). A $30,000 moving stipend/sign‑on bonus is offered to facilitate relocation. Paid Time Off: 7.6 weeks (38 days) encompassing vacation, personal leave, CME time, and paid holidays. Twelve sick days annually (96 hours) earned monthly. Additional compensation: $145 per hour for work beyond clinical commitments.

Responsibilities
:
Performs preoperative evaluation by reviewing staff notes, progress notes, lab work, and patient histories to determine appropriate anesthesia management. Orders additional analyzes, consultations, lab work, and peri‑anesthetic medications as warranted. Monitors equipment function and induces general and/or regional anesthesia using approved procedures. Manages the anesthetic procedure by monitoring physiological, biochemical, and biochemical indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, blood loss, patient position, pulmonary compliance, arterial blood gases, etc.,
and adjusts anesthesia as required, informing other medical personnel of all necessary developments. Oversees recovery from anesthesia by observing indicators in the operating room and post‑anesthesia recovery room and performs post‑operative evaluation. Documents all activities in staff notes, anesthesia records, and patient charts.
Work Environment
:
Work is performed in an office environment nearly continuously. Occasional exposure to infectious disease, oils, hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and chemicals may occur.
Physical Requirements
:
Requires hearing, listening, talking, walking continuously. May require repetitive hand motion (typing), standing frequently.
Minimum Qualifications
:
Certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Utah. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills. CRNA certification requires completion of an AANA approved curriculum, 24 months of concurrent practicum experience (or 1‑2 years of related work experience), and successful national exam. Bi‑annual rectification contingent on continuing professional practice plus 40 hours of continuing education units.
