This position develops and conducts training programs, orientation, and continuing education for new and current employees specific to a department or function. The incumbent assesses training needs of staff and monitors the effectiveness of the training program. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and conduct training and regulatory procedures within departments, complete documentation requirements, and department specific computer operations.
  • Provide orientation for all newly hired employees.
  • Create or obtain training and orientation materials.
  • Identify and assess employee skill level and training needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of department education and training programs.
  • Maintain documentation of training, education, and new employee orientation.
  • Create reports of quality management training, educational activities, and program effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement a monthly training schedule.
  • Supervise and audit employees daily work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Demonstrated computer, organization, human relation, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately evaluate employee needs to develop training programs and educational materials that are effective and address different skill levels.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Six years of progressively more responsible experience in a related area, including one year as a trainer, or an equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Applicable supervisory training or leadership experience.
  • Emphasis on experience with safety training.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • This position involves intermediate work that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects.
