Travel Surgical Tech​/ORT - CST FA

American Traveler is seeking a Certified First Assistant with at least 2 years of first assist experience for a 13-week hospital OR travel assignment in Salt Lake City, UT.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of first assist experience required
• CSFA or CFA certification required
• Active CST/ORT certification required; state license required if applicable
• Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the role being applied for
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based OR assignment located in Salt Lake City, UT
• Unit specializes in cardiac first assist and endoscopic vein harvesting within a 15-OR surgical suite
• Procedures include general surgery, urology, GYN, spine, neuro, orthopedics, robotics, and vascular surgery
• Schedule is either three 12-hour or four 10-hour shifts per day, with shifts running 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• On-call requirements of approximately 4–5 call shifts per month
• Weekend requirements to be determined
• Floating to the main OR is required
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• A staff of approximately 120 supports the surgical department
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date — AHA or ARC accepted
