Intermountain Health Primary Childrens Hospital

Part time

Job Description:

Join a nationally recognized pediatric health system where your expertise truly shapes the future of critical care. At Intermountain Health, our mission— helping people live the healthiest lives possible —guides everything we do.

As a valued Advanced Practice Provider on our Pediatric Critical Care team, you’ll play a central role in delivering world‑class care to the most complex and critically ill children across the Intermountain West.

About the Role

Step into a high‑acuity environment where your advanced skills are not only utilized but celebrated. As a Pediatric Critical Care APP with us, you’ll care for patients from newborn through young adulthood in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Primary Children’s Hospital Salt Lake City and Lehi, Utah campuses.

As the region’s premier qua ternary referral center, we treat a remarkable breadth of pathology—often receiving patients from as far away as Alaska. You’ll work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with a collaborative team of intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary specialists, practicing at the top of your license. Your scope includes:

  • Leading and implementing care plans
  • Performing high‑acuity procedures (ECMO, intubations, chest tubes, mechanical circulatory support device placement, and more)
  • Managing complex, rapidly evolving clinical situations

As a PRN provider, your hours worked and shifts will be variable, dependent on your availability and the needs of the department. Our 24/7 unit offers a rotating schedule of 12‑hour shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).

What you’ll bring:
  • Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Utah State Controlled Substance License.
  • Federal DEA Certificate II through V
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
  • PALS certification
  • 2+ years of Pediatric ICU clinical experience
