American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Same Day Surgery position requiring prior SDS/pre-op/post-op experience and a UT or compact RN license.

• Ambulatory Care Same Day Surgery (SDS) unit within Outpatient Surgery Services on the 2nd floor of the Main Tower
• 18-bed unit staffed by approximately 30 team members
• Patient ratios up to 4:1
• Shift scheduled 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM, 5 days a week with variable day shift start times
• No night shift, weekend, or on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Uses standard hospital equipment and EPIC EMR
• All surgical case types performed on the unit

• Active RN license (UT or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior experience working in a Same Day Surgery department required
• Experience with pre-operative preparation, including IV starts, obtaining vitals, patient shaving, consent, and medication administration required
• Experience providing post-surgical discharge instructions required
• IV start and pre/post-operative surgical experience preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care across all phases of same-day surgery including pre-op prep, intra-op support, and post-op discharge teaching
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered
