Summary
Monitors all quality assurance/food safety activities and makes recommendations and carries out corrections for improving Quality departmental functions. Knowledge of food quality standards and procedures is vital and good attention to detail, strong communication skills & logical thinking. Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide support to Quality Assurance Management.
- Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans, preparing action plans, implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Enhance department reputation by accepting ownership for new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Perform tests at specified stages in production; test products for qualities such as temperature, defects, code dates; record results; review and report for accuracy and completion.
- Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits.
- Complete special projects; work with project team; resolve problems by examining data and selecting corrective steps.
- Quality analysis of incoming dry goods: verification of specifications before startup; problem solving on quality issues with production and other teams; documentation of key metrics; maintenance of calibration logs; preparation of laboratory equipment and solutions; direct communication with operators and production personnel; general analysis and sampling of production samples; collection of retention samples on shift basis.
- At least 1 year experience in a Quality Assurance or food Safety role within a manufacturing facility.
Ability to read and interpret quality documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to apply mathematical operations and concepts to solving quality process‑related problems.

WorkEnvironment
The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and energized equipment. The noise level in the work environment varies depending on tasks.
