Position OverviewThis is a 6+ month contract opportunity for a Lab Technician supporting laboratory operations. The Lab Technician will work both independently and collaboratively with scientists and engineers to execute analytical testing, support research efforts, and maintain laboratory systems. The hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Responsibilities- Prepare, collect, and document samples while performing routine lab testing and summarizing results.
- Conduct physical property testing (e.g., particle size, density, moisture content) and basic chemical analyses.
- Set up and operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
- Maintain cleanliness of lab workspace, including glassware and tools.
- Record and input testing data daily into laboratory information systems.
- Follow and maintain proper documentation practices.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory and manufacturing quality standards.
- Adhere to environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
- Support safety programs and proactively identify potential hazards.
- Assist in troubleshooting lab processes and equipment as needed.
- Hands‑on experience collecting, preparing, and testing samples in a laboratory environment.
- Experience setting up, operating, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Strong accuracy in documenting procedures, test methods, and results.
- Familiarity with entering and managing data in laboratory systems or logs.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab workspace.
- Consistent adherence to safety protocols and quality standards (e.g., GMP, GLP, GDP).
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or nutraceutical/food ingredient lab.
- Familiarity with LIMS systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related major OR 1–3 years of experience in a chemistry laboratory is preferred.
