Location: Salt Lake City, UT 84115 with ~up to 30% travel

Salary Expectation: $85-105k + annual bonus + competitive benefits

Start Date: 8/17 target

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of quality engineering or supplier quality experience within manufacturing
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and supplier assessments
  • Knowledge of RCCA, CAPA, 8D, 5 Why, or similar problem-solving methodologies
  • Experience managing non-conformances and supplier corrective actions
  • Understanding of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel 30%
Pluses:
  • GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
  • Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 requirements
  • Experience in ESD-controlled manufacturing environments (ANSI S20.20)
  • Mechanical and/or electrical component manufacturing experience
Job Description:

Insight Global is looking to identify a Supplier Quality Engineer focused on supplier performance, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting advanced drone manufacturing. This individual will work closely with suppliers, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure incoming materials and components meet quality requirements. They will lead supplier audits, drive corrective actions, support new product introductions, and help improve supplier quality performance across a growing defense and aerospace manufacturing environment.

What

they do:
  • Qualify, onboard, and assess new suppliers
  • Conduct supplier audits against ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
  • Develop and manage supplier quality processes and procedures
  • Investigate supplier defects and lead root cause corrective action activities
  • Track supplier KPIs including PPM, OTD, NCRs, and supplier scorecards
  • Support incoming inspection programs, sampling plans, and inspection criteria
  • Review drawings, specifications, and quality requirements with suppliers
  • Support engineering changes, product launches, and supplier readiness activities
  • Maintain supplier quality records and compliance documentation
  • Partner with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive improvements
