About the roleAWS Rack Manufacturing supports production of enterprise‑class hardware, including servers, storage systems, network equipment, and AI accelerator platforms. The Manufacturing Test Engineer works with hardware engineering and NPI Test teams to translate testing methodology into the operational manufacturing environment, shaping manufacturing test strategy from prototype to high‑volume production. The role requires ownership across the end‑to‑end test ecosystem, driving automation, self‑remedy, uptime, and yield improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Own and support the test ecosystem: architect, develop, and maintain manufacturing test infrastructure for AI server hardware products.
- Build and scale test software: design production test software and automation frameworks using Python, Bash, and related tooling.
- Drive automation and self‑remedy: develop automated test processes and self‑healing capabilities to reduce manual intervention.
- Define test strategy: establish modular test strategies, set pass/fail limits, and implement statistical controls (GR&R, Cp/Cpk, correlation analysis).
- Analyze production data: compile and analyze test data using automated reporting and exploratory analysis, identify trends and root‑cause failures.
- Own uptime & yield: monitor functional test yield, lead triage of station failures, and run weekly production quality reviews.
- Collaborate across teams: work with hardware design, firmware, process engineering, quality, and operations teams to align test requirements.
- Guide fixture & infrastructure design: partner on fixture design and procurement, engage in RFQ processes.
- Support NPI: support test solutions for new product builds from prototype to production ramp.
- Sustain & improve: provide ongoing support for deployed test systems, implement configuration changes for new variants, and maintain documentation.
- Provide feedback upstream: deliver design‑for‑test feedback to hardware and firmware teams.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience programming with at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, Ruby).
- 3+ years of designing or architecting systems (design patterns, reliability, scalability).
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems) and hands‑on systems engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Python, Power Shell, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large‑scale infrastructure.
- Experience in large‑scale data center network implementations and support.
Travel expected 25% of the time to support manufacturing facilities across multiple locations.

SalaryBase salary range: USD – annually (USA, UT, Salt Lake City).
