About Torus

Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called Giga One. We are the world's first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid.

Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.

Torus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.

At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

About

the Role

-------------

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all products, components, and sub-assemblies meet quality standards and customer specifications before they are shipped or moved to the next phase of production. This role involves leading root cause analysis, continuous improvement, process documentation, and data capture. You will also assist in conducting visual and function tests, examining materials, reading specifications, using precision measuring tools, and documenting inspection results to maintain high levels of quality control.

As well as performing process audits, root cause analysis, nonconformance review and disposition. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants to help build and mature Torus's Quality Management System (QMS) from the ground up --- not step into a system that is already fully established.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with inspection and technician duties
  • Read and interpret prints, schematics, engineering drawings, or product manuals to determine required standards
  • Use precision measuring tools for electrical and mechanical assemblies, such as microscopes, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Identify and reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations and clearly label them for disposition and analysis
  • Verify accuracy of documentation from inspection reports and logs, and input data into the company database and quality tracking systems
  • Lead production, quality, and engineering teams to perform in depth root causes analysis and testing to identify defects and suggest improvements
  • Assist quality management and engineering teams to resolve reported issues
  • Assist with Quality Management System development and implementation
  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of core Quality Management System (QMS) processes, including Nonconformance Management (NCM), CAPA, Document Control, Supplier Quality, Change Management, Internal Auditing, Traceability, Complaint Management, Receiving and Shipping, and Employee Training
  • Apply GD&T principles to interpret critical dimensions and ensure Fit, Form, and Function across components and assemblies
  • Translate drawings, design specifications, and process requirements into Quality Control Plans that drive repeatable, reproducible production processes meeting design and customer requirements
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gage R&R and attribute agreement studies, to validate measurement systems
  • Apply Six Sigma tools and a continuous improvement mindset to reduce process variation and drive down top defects
  • Support the development of standard work and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Follow company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and guidelines, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Who You Are

  • A problem-solver who approaches challenges with cautious optimism, leveraging your strengths to continuously improve
  • Self-motivated and adaptable as you thrive independently, take initiative, and adjust quickly to…
