Job Summary The Division of Epidemiology’s Program for Addiction Research, Clinical Care, Knowledge, and Advocacy (PARCKA) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant (RA) to support the NIDA Clinical Trials Network (CTN) study CTN‑0152, at the University of Utah site. CTN‑0152 is an innovative national trial on tirzepatide in addition to buprenorphine as a treatment for opioid use disorder. This position will report to the study lead and will work closely with the site Principal Investigator, node project manager, and study leadership.
The ideal candidate is punctual, organized, adaptable, and comfortable engaging with the populations we serve. Prior research experience is not required, training will be provided for candidates who bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong attention to detail. We encourage applicants who are eager to grow and develop new skills to apply. This position is for a trial that requires in‑person visits, the RA will be required to be on site no less than 80% of the work week, 100% as needed.

ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Complete all day‑to‑day clinical trial activities in adherence with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), study protocols, and applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Serve as a first point of contact for study participants and provide professional, compassionate interaction throughout the research process.
- Work directly with study participants and locators, ensuring supportive, responsive, and high‑quality interactions throughout the study.
- Recruit, screen, enroll, and obtain informed consent from study participants.
- Coordinate research procedures, participant visits, and follow‑up activities.
- Transport study materials, including traveling to off‑site locations as needed.
- Identify, track, and report adverse events in collaboration with the PI and sponsor requirements.
- Maintain study blinding and follow all study‑specific confidentiality and protocol requirements.
- Maintain organized research records in compliance with university and regulatory policies.
- Collect and maintain clinical and laboratory data with accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation for site monitoring visits, sponsor audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Monitor supply inventory and assist in ordering materials when necessary.
- Carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor to support research operations.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Research Assistant, I: Requires little to no related experience.
Research Assistant, II : Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
Research Assistant, III : Requires 3+ years of related experience.
