Job Summary
Immediate opening for a Research Technician I (Job Code S56441) to provide research support for projects in immunopathology across the labs of Brian Evavold and Tracey Lamb in the Department of Pathology, Division of Microbiology & Immunology.

Key Responsibilities- Performs technical procedures under supervision by applying standard scientific techniques and analytical principles.
- Supervises the care of research mice; collects animal tissues and specimens for laboratory analysis. Performs dissections and minor animal surgery.
- Assists senior laboratory personnel with carrying out experimental procedures and recommends modifications as needed.
- Performs specialized tests and procedures using complex equipment.
- Procures/orders supplies and materials needed to conduct research.
- Makes statistical calculations, analyzes data, and prepares reports summarizing results.
- Conducts literature reviews to obtain abstracts and information to be utilized in research.
Nearly Continuously: Laboratory environment.
Often: Exposure to animals, infectious disease, oils (air or skin exposure), hazards (including proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals).
Physical Requirements and FrequencyNearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing, pipetting), walking, standing, sitting.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Minimum QualificationsEQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
