Job Summary

The Leung lab at the University of Utah Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a postdoctoral fellow to conduct clinical, translational, and epidemiological research on diarrheal diseases. The role focuses on developing diagnostic and prognostic clinical prediction rules to improve patient management, with potential international collaboration in Africa and Asia. The position is funded by NIH/NIAID grant R01AI
135114 and offers opportunities for additional projects aligning with the candidate’s interests.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct research projects on diarrheal diseases, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Develop and validate diagnostic and prognostic clinical prediction rules.
  • Collaborate with international partners and stakeholders, which may involve travel to Africa and Asia.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams, including clinical, epidemiological, machine learning, and statistical expertise.
  • Prepare manuscripts, presentations, and grant reports.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD or equivalent research experience in epidemiology, public health, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in bioinformatics.
