Job SummaryThe Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant, III to support ongoing research projects. This position is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in research. The role includes a variety of administrative tasks in support of the clinical research program or laboratory. Tasks may vary by department and research category, and typically involve managing the front desk, organizing files, and performing other clerical duties associated with research studies and programs.
Additional responsibilities include recruiting participants, verifying eligibility, enrolling subjects, scheduling participant visits, maintaining records, transporting samples or laboratory equipment, and monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies.

Responsibilities- Collect and compile data from a variety of sources; may enter data into a PC or computer terminal.
- Obtain informed consent from participants.
- Maintain knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations.
- May edit research papers, project reports, proposals and curriculum materials prior to publication or presentation.
- Prepare format for final disposition of data; maintain an internal library on project information resources and final data collected.
- May work with research personnel in the design and preparation of research projects and in recording data.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience). Research Assistant, III:
Requires 3+ years of related experience.
- In pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in a science related field or equivalency of one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
- Departments may require IRB CITI Course or IATA DGR training within a specified timeframe.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R) or willingness to learn.

This schedule is variable with potential to work in these hours:
Sunday-Saturday 8 am - 8 pm depending on the need of the team and studies we are involved in. Work schedule is very flexible.
