Performs varied support functions, including gathering and contributing information or materials for research projects at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health ( RMCOEH ). RMCOEH became Utah’s first statutorily established multi-university program in 2021. The Center works especially closely with 10 transdisciplinary Center Program Directors who hold faculty appointments in 4 U of U departments and will work closely with faculty and staff at Weber State University to contribute to the success of this prominent, new legislative initiative and partnership.
Opportunities may include authorship on manuscripts, presentations at domestic and international conferences, and development of research skills and knowledge.

ResponsibilitiesCollect blood for tests, transfusions, and research. Follow universal precautions for all collection, handling, and disposal of bodily fluids. Ensure blood is properly acquired by means of venipuncture, skin puncture, or arterial collection. Adhere to strict sterilization policies and procedures to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases. Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret results. May transport the specimen to the correct laboratory.
Entry-level support role. perform tasks as directed under close supervision. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.
