Laboratory Technician-Werner Lab Job Summary

The Werner lab is looking to hire a technician that has experience working with nematodes. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with micro-injection, CRISPR, and general maintenance of nematodecultures. Technical experience with chromatin immunoprecipitationand ATAC-seq is also preferable. Finally, background knowledge in molecular biology and epigenetics is ideal.

The department may choose to hire at any of the below joblevels and associated pay rates based on their business need andbudget.

Perform laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses. Prepare andweigh samples for testing and analysis. Conduct tests, assays, andother protocols under the direction of a laboratory services manager, physician, nurse, or scientist. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean, sterile, and inproper working order. May be responsible for calibration of instruments. Senior-level support role.

Completes assignments with little supervision. May assist less-experienced team members.

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

• Laboratory Technician, I:
  Requires little to norelated experience.
• Laboratory Technician, II:
  Requires at least 1year of related experience.
• Laboratory Technician, III:
  Requires 3+ years ofrelated experience.
