The Postdoctoral Fellow in Cornea Biology will conduct advanced research focused on the cellular, molecular, and translational aspects of corneal structure, function, and disease. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and executing laboratory experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, preparing manuscripts and grant materials, and presenting findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences. The fellow will collaborate with faculty, graduate students, and clinical partners within the academic medical center, contributing to ongoing projects and helping develop new research directions in cornea biology.

Additional activities include maintaining accurate research records, mentoring junior trainees in the lab, and adhering to regulatory and safety guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Salt Lake City, UT.

• Doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) in biology, biomedical sciences, vision science, or a closely related field.
• Strong foundation in cornea biology, ocular physiology, or related areas of eye research, with demonstrated ability to design and conduct hypothesis-driven experiments.
• Experience with relevant laboratory techniques (e.g., cell culture, molecular biology assays, imaging/microscopy, histology, animal models) and data analysis.
• Proven research productivity as shown by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, or equivalent scholarly work.
• Excellent scientific writing and communication skills, including the ability to prepare manuscripts, reports, and grant-related documents.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary research team, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Commitment to ethical research conduct, laboratory safety, and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
