Carson Kitchen isa popular, high-energy Downtown Salt Lake City restaurant (with an original Las Vegas location) known for its creative American comfort food and artisanal cocktails. Founded by Chef Cory Harwell and the late Kerry Simon, it features a lively industrial-chic atmosphere with an open kitchen, focusing on elevated, shareable dishes like bacon jam, crispy chicken thighs, and cocoa-espresso ribeye.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Executive Sous Chef at Carson Kitchen, located in Salt Lake City, UT. The Executive Sous Chef will assist in managing daily kitchen operations, including supervising food preparation, ensuring the quality of dishes, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Responsibilities also include collaborating on menu development, managing food inventory, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.

Additionally, the Executive Sous Chef will motivate and guide kitchen staff, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining high culinary standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge and skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe execution
  • Experience in kitchen management, including staff supervision, training, and maintaining team morale
  • Knowledge of inventory management, portion control, and cost control to ensure efficient operations
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure compliance with health standards
  • Collaborative approach with creativity for menu planning and creating new dishes
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a leadership or management role
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred
