Job Title:
Bouncer / Security Guard Job Summary
The bouncer is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for patrons, staff, and the venue. This role involves enforcing entry policies, monitoring crowd behavior, resolving conflicts, and preventing unauthorized or disruptive behavior.
Key Responsibilities- Access Control
: - Verify age and identification of patrons to ensure compliance with venue policies.
- Manage crowd flow and enforce maximum capacity limits.
- Deny entry to intoxicated or unruly individuals.
- Monitoring and Surveillance
: - Observe patrons and the environment for potential issues.
- Conduct routine checks within and around the venue to deter inappropriate behavior.
- Conflict Resolution
: - Address and de-escalate disputes among patrons to prevent escalation.
- Safely and professionally remove disruptive individuals when necessary.
- Emergency Management
: - Assist in evacuations during emergencies (fire, medical incidents, etc.).
- Provide first response to incidents, including contacting law enforcement or medical personnel.
- Venue Policy Enforcement
: - Uphold and communicate the venue's rules and regulations.
- Work closely with management to enforce alcohol laws and codes of conduct.
- Collaboration and Reporting
: - Coordinate with other security personnel and venue staff.
- Maintain detailed incident reports when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields is preferred.
- Physical fitness and the ability to handle potentially physical altercations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for de-escalation.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding alcohol service and security.
- Security or crowd management certification (if required by jurisdiction).
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Calm under pressure and good judgment.
- Observational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor and strong ethics.
- May include late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Standing or walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to noisy, crowded, and sometimes volatile situations.
