Millwright Mechanic

We are currently seeking a skilled Millwright Mechanic to support our Shredder Maintenance team at our Salt Lake City facility. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and essential to keeping our industrial shredder operating safely and efficiently. Youll be assigned to a specific process unit and work alongside a tight-knit team of 4–5 mechanics.

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and processing equipment
• Troubleshooting conveyors and conveyance systems, including belt tracking and performance issues
• Performing precision alignment, leveling, and centering of machinery using lasers, micrometers, levels, and other tools
• Installing shims, adjusting clearances, tensioning fasteners, and ensuring optimal equipment performance
• Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling machinery and components as part of a team
• Performing stick and wire-feed welding as needed
• Working with hydraulic systems and diagnosing mechanical failures
• Handling rigging activities safely, including inspecting rigging, attaching loads, and guiding lifts
• Operating forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, and other mechanized equipment
• Completing assigned work on schedule and to specification, with attention to detail and safety
• Maintaining housekeeping standards in assigned work areas
• Completing required documentation and paperwork accurately
• Following Metro Group s Health & Safety standards, including JSAs and risk assessments

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in industrial maintenance or a comparable field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability
• Experience with conveyors and precision alignment
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
• Welding experience (stick and wire feed)
• Basic electrical and controls knowledge (a plus)
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces and around heavy equipment
• Valid driver s license
• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to take direction and work independently when needed
