Responsibilities

Knowledge of national, state and local building codes/standards as well as the ability to read wiring diagrams will not be required.

  • Maintain high level of customer service and professional attitude
  • Repair, examine, and service components of bicycles
  • Assembling/disassembling bicycle
  • Wheel truing basics
  • Crank arm/ bottom bracket replacement
  • Change derailleurs
  • Headset overhaul
  • Changing brakes, brake levers and shifter levers
  • Changing all kinds of cables
  • Limit screws adjustment (both derailleurs)
  • Center brakes & disc brakes
  • Chain check, replacement
  • Basic hydraulic maintenance understanding
  • Refurbish bicycles for sale
  • Maintain inventory of workshop
  • Clean and organize workshop
  • Maintain schedule, coordinate delay's and changes through calendar
  • May set up, take down, or assist with special event parking.

The incumbent may be required to work overtime hours during the evening, weekends and holidays as required. They must wear appropriate clothing or uniform, and be able to withstand a high stress environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years relevant work experience in the applicable trades areas or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated knowledge of national, state and local building codes and standards; ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and be able to make mechanical sketches and drawings; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.

Requires lifting and transporting heavy objects. A valid Utah Driver's license may be required.

Preferences

Two years related bicycle mechanic experience, or equivalency.
