CANDOO [ kan–doo ]: noun The quality of being Effective and Enthusiastic
You're a trade professional who leads with heart, thrives under pressure, and refuses mediocrity. You embrace feedback, stay humble, choose optimism, and chase continuous growth. You take pride in clean, organized work—especially in occupied healthcare environments where details matter and patients/staff come first.
If that describes you, read on. If not, this team won't be the right fit—and that's okay. We're building something special.
Who We AreCandoo specializes in commercial interior build-outs and renovations of healthcare spaces along the Wasatch Front. We set ourselves apart by building champion environments for the people who occupy them. Our projects demand precision, safety, cleanliness, and the ability to work in active facilities without disruption. We're growing fast and committed to team success—superior culture, real prosperity, and uncapped potential for those who deliver.
The Role We're hiring a Superintendent (or strong Foreman ready to grow into it) to own daily site operations, self-perform key tasks, and lead subcontractors on healthcare-focused interiors buildout and renovationsCore Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and daily execution while keeping sites impeccably clean and safe.
- Self-perform: carpentry, layout, door/specialty installs, finishing touches, and general cleanup.
- Manage clear, timely communication with owners, architects, PMs, subs, and facility staff.
- Translate plans into reality—track progress, maintain schedules, and solve issues on the fly.
- Supervise and collaborate with subcontractors for seamless coordination.
- Able to perform nights/weekend work. ~20% of our projects require off hours (premium pay applies).
Experience level is secondary to mindset—we value hunger to evolve more than a perfect resume. Ideal fits:
- Current/former foreman or superintendent in any trade (commercial interiors, healthcare, occupied facilities a big plus).
- Bias for action, strong safety focus, clean/organized work ethic.
- Comfortable self-performing hands-on trades work.
- Ready to lead humbly while refusing average results.
- Base: $35–$40/hr (based on experience/track record).
- Premium pay for night/weekend shifts.
- Quarterly Profit Incentive:
Typically >10% of base (often much higher—tied heavily to individual performance + team results). - Holiday & vacation pay.
- Health insurance.
- 401k with 5% match.
- With tenure/engagement: company credit card (materials/fuel), vehicle for management roles, phone/internet reimbursement, subscription perks.
