As a Pipe Layer, you'll play an important role in building the underground infrastructure that communities depend on every day including water, sewer, storm drain, and utility systems.

You'll work hands-on in the field, helping bring important civil construction projects to life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Align and position pipes to prepare them for sealing.
• Check slopes and grades using lasers, grade rods, transit levels, and other equipment.
• Connect pipe sections and properly seal joints.
• Cover and backfill installed pipe with earth or other approved materials.
• Cut pipe to required lengths and ensure proper fit and alignment.
• Dig trenches to required depths.
• Read, identify, and understand blueprints and plans for above- and below-ground utilities.
• Grade and level trench bases using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Follow project specifications and maintain a high standard of safety and quality.
• Work effectively with crew members, operators, and supervisors to keep projects moving.

We're looking for someone who knows underground utility work and takes pride in their craft.

• At least 1 year of pipe laying experience with underground utilities or a similar civil construction field.
• Strong knowledge of water, sewer, storm drain, dry utilities, and other civil construction projects.
• Knowledge of pipe-laying methods, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and utility blueprints.
• Ability to work outdoors and in challenging conditions, including heat.
• Ability to bend, kneel, sit, stand, and perform physical work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Strong attention to safety and commitment to following safe work practices.
