This role supports our Sandy, UT branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater Salt Lake City, UT area.
Transform the everyday with us! Senior Fire Alarm Systems Service Techniciansplay a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Smart Buildings. You will be responsible for the service and maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems. You will ensure that components are inspected, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the customer. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also act as a mentor, providing on-the-job training to less experienced technicians, fostering a culture of growth and knowledge‑sharing within our team.
Our Fire Alarm Service Technicians are the face of Siemens, and your expertise and regular interaction with the customer will help keep their buildings and inhabitants safe.
- Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements.
- Create detailed test and inspection reports based on code requirements and customer needs
- Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality. Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
- Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards
- Quote small repair jobs and provide detailed parts and labor requirements to estimators and sales for large repair projects
- Plan work with Lead Technicians and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively
Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience programming and/or servicing commercial fire alarm systems
- Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification or NICET III Fire Alarm Certification
- Must be willing and able to differentiate types/colors of wire, use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
- If you already have the Utah Master Fire Alarm Technician certification but no NICET, you must obtain the NICET II Fire Alarm Certification within 6 months
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read/understand design and construction documents
- Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle program
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or state‑recognized GED;
Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred - 7+ years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of commercial fire alarm systems
- Experience with Siemens Cerberus
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
