Assists in the upkeep of the YWCA campus as well as the safety and security of buildings under the supervision of the Janitorial Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions:
- Housekeeping duties include but are not limited to climbing ladders, moving furniture and heavy boxes, stripping and waxing floors, and shampooing carpets and furniture.
- Complete work orders and housekeeping tasks as assigned
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies
- Complete room turnovers, as needed, to YWCA sanitizing standards.
- Perform other job duties as assigned by Janitorial Coordinator
- Uphold and act in accordance with the mission of the organization, vision, values, policies, procedures, protocols and strategic direction of the organization.
- Model YWCA community standards and encourage program participants and other staff to follow them.
- Satisfactorily perform all duties outlined in this job description.
- Maintain all certifications and licensing related to role, program licensing, and grant standards including but not limited to: CPR, First Aid, etc.
- Attend required staff meetings, trainings, supervision as requested.
- Monitor campus security in collaboration with all staff to protect the safety and well-being of program participants, staff, and visitors.

- 1-2 years of janitorial experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete projects within established timeframe.
- Able to demonstrate skills in effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
- An understanding of, and agreement with, YWCA Utah's mission, values, and philosophy regarding eliminating racism, empowerment of women, and commitment to anti-oppression work and social justice.
- Understanding and commitment to issues of cultural diversity and anti-racism.
- Must be able to pass Department of Health and Human Services criminal background check.
Work is generally performed in a safe office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit for long periods of time; use computer to enter data; use telephone to converse with customers and employees; walk and stand for long periods of time; occasionally lift 50lbs; perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. Travel to attend conferences, training, outreach and other events occurs routinely.
