Senior Software Engineer - End Effector

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Software Engineer located in Salt Lake City, UT. This is a fully onsite role. The contract is 3-6 months (extendable). The candidate will start ASAP.

Duties Include:

* Integrate COTS end effectors and other hardware peripherals into Palladyne IQ

* Implement device drivers/adapters and a clean hardware abstraction for grippers/vacuum, tool changers, and I/O

* Bring-up and debug hardware/firmware interfaces;
Define wiring maps and communication timing

* Add configuration, status, and error reporting hooks for IQ UI/telemetry

* Write automated bench tests and HIL tests;
Document bring-up and field install steps

* Support shop-floor trials and acceptance testing with customers
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems

* Senior Software Engineer (End-Effector Integration)

* Experience with C++ and Python

* Strong C++ for hardware/firmware interfacing and protocol parsing

* Hands-on with industrial comms:
Ether Net/IP, Modbus (TCP/RTU), IO-Link, serial interfaces;
Experience integrating COTS devices (IODD usage, vendor SDKs, serial/Ethernet bridges)

* Solid debugging (oscilloscope/logic analyzer/Wireshark) and real-time/threading fundamentals
