Job DescriptionThe Software Engineer II is an early‑to‑mid‑career contributor with formal education and experience in software engineering. Responsibilities include researching, designing, developing, analyzing, testing, and implementing software operating or application systems. The role involves communicating project information to clients and project managers, writing and maintaining complete documentation, supporting team members, and ensuring established goals and deadlines are met.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Develop web applications and web services using Java, Spring Boot, AWS SDK, Angular, and other web technologies
- Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in high‑pressure environments, excelling at pinpointing and resolving problems early in the project to avoid cost/time expenses
- Deliver high‑quality projects on time through the ability to design architecture, write high‑quality code, and execute effective unit tests
- Optimize performance tuning for high utilization 24/7 access
- Integrate third‑party products with existing infrastructure
- Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self‑managed and team‑based Agile projects
- Work with internal customers to gather business processes and project requirements
- Research, design, and develop computer software systems, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
- Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- Formulate and design software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design
- Develop and direct software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation
- Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well‑maintained
- Perform miscellaneous projects as assigned
- Update technical skills as required
- Project designs and plans are creative, employ useful technologies, meet deadlines, and fulfill goals and requirements
- Project estimates are well‑researched and accurate
- Project testing procedures are effective and timely; results are well‑analyzed and problems are corrected
- Required reports and documentation are complete and current
- Good communication and working relationships exist with clients and co‑workers; concerns are promptly addressed and any problems are effectively resolved
- Management is appropriately informed of area activities and significant problems
- Company policies and procedures are closely followed
- Experience designing and building modern web APIs and services
, including RESTful architectures, microservices, and data exchange using JSON or XML over HTTP/S; familiarity with API design best practices, versioning, and documentation (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger) - Experience in designing and implementing system integrations using event‑driven architecture
- Experience in applying Change Data Capture (CDC)
- Experience with identity‑based software
- Experience in integrations with Identity Fabric's / Meshes
- Good understanding of issue troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Commitment to quality through the ability to translate complex technical requirements into functional software using best practices to write high‑quality code
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working equally well in self‑managed and team‑based Agile projects, providing technical guidance and leadership to other team members
- Encouraged to assist less experienced peers
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience and a proven track record in developing web‑based applications and web services using Java, REST, Angular, and other web technologies
- 2 years of experience with software, Java (Spring Boot), JavaScript (Angular)
- Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third‑party products with existing infrastructure
- 2+ years of experience in system integrations and event‑driven architecture
