Software Development Engineer II – Salt Lake City, UT
Location:
Salt Lake City, UT. Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000.
Design, program, build, deploy, and maintain applications on the Service Now Platform. Analyse and modify existing software and design, construct, and test end‑user applications that meet user needs. Participate fully in the development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, technical specifications, testing, and documentation. Support and maintain software functionality and evaluate new technologies.
Responsibilities- Mid‑level developer within the Service Now development team, contributing to platform improvements.
- Analyse and evaluate existing systems to define problems, assess data availability, and identify design issues.
- Design, configure, and develop custom applications and modules using Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
- Assist in developing integrations (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML) via Integration Hub / MID Server.
- Apply knowledge of SDLC concepts and Agile methodologies.
- Work collaboratively with the team to improve platform performance and quality.
- Equivalency statement: 1 year of higher education may substitute 1 year of directly related work experience.
- Software Development Engineer II:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related experience, or Master’s degree (or equivalency) + 2 years.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator certification.
- Experience with API & integration design: RESTful services, webhook/notification integrations.
- Working knowledge of the Service Now platform, preferably HRSD or related modules.
- Experience in scripting and development concepts such as JavaScript and Service Now Glide scripting.
- Ability to assess situations, diagnose symptoms and causes, determine goals, and recommend actions to meet or rectify issues.
