Senior Quality Engineer – WGU
WGU is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to build and implement automated UI, API, and performance tests within CI/CD pipelines, perform functional, system, and integration testing, partner with cross‑functional teams, lead root‑cause analysis, and mentor team members.

- Build and implement automated UI, API, and performance tests within CI/CD pipelines
- Perform functional, system, and integration testing for new and existing features
- Partner with engineers, product owners, scrum masters, and UX designers to deliver high‑quality products
- Improve communication by serving as a liaison between development and test automation teams
- Identify, track, and prioritize high‑value defects and drive resolution
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence
- Mentor team members and deliver QA training sessions to internal stakeholders
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (equivalent experience may substitute)
- 6 years of experience including API testing scripts (REST/SOAP), UI/browser emulation scripts (Selenium, TestNG, Protractor), programming/scripting languages (Java, JavaScript, Bash, Python), load testing (JMeter), CI/CD orchestration (AWS Code Build/Code Pipeline, Bamboo, Jenkins), Jira or Workfront, end‑to‑end automation testing, and delivering QA training sessions or workshops
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices
- Experience with automation frameworks and programming languages such as Java, Python, or Java Script
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset
- Proven ability to drive quality improvements across cross‑functional teams
- Master’s Degree or PhD
- Experience with PaaS systems such as Salesforce, Banner, or Workday
- Ability to write SQL queries across relational databases
- Experience with non‑SQL data stores such as MongoDB or DynamoDB
- Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting
- Exposure to mobile development (Android or iOS)

This is a full‑time, in‑office position located in Salt Lake City, UT, requiring five days per week. The role requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including attendance at company summits (typically one to two per year) and other business related events.
