Software Development Engineer IV
Design, program, build, deploy, and maintain applications on the Service Now Platform. Analyze and modify existing tools as well as design, construct, and test end-user applications that meet user needs. Participate in the full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design. Work with the product manager on technical specifications based on conceptual design and the organization’s requirements. Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed. Consult with end users to prototype, refine, test, and debug the platform to meet needs.

Responsibilities- Lead and improve development activities within the Service Now platform as a senior developer.
- Analyze and evaluate existing systems with minimal oversight and define problems, data availability, reports requirements, and system design issues.
- Design, configure, and develop custom applications and advanced software modules using sophisticated scripting (Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub) while adhering to standard practices.
- Develop applications using integrations (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML) with Integration Hub/MID Server where applicable.
- Apply understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts and Agile methodologies.
- Work within a team dynamic to improve the platform.
- Analyze problems and information to be processed, define the problem, and develop system requirements and program specifications from which detailed flow charts, programs, and tests are prepared.
- Equivalency statement: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
- Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) plus 8 years of directly related work experience, or a master’s degree (or equivalency) plus 6 years of directly related work experience.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator
- Proficient with API & integration design: RESTful services, webhook/notification integrations.
- Strong working knowledge of Service Now platform, with a focus on HRSD or related modules preferred.
- Proficient with scripting and development concepts such as JavaScript and Service Now scripting (Glide).
- Ability to assess situations, diagnose symptoms and causes of issues, determine goals, and recommend actions to meet goals or rectify issues based on analysis of information.
