Role DescriptionAs a Software Engineer 3, you will contribute to the build, development, and maintenance of Agent Desktop applications built on .NET (C#/WPF).
This is a hands‑on individual contributor role where you will:
Own features from build through production
Write high‑quality, maintainable, and well‑tested code
Collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, user‑facing solutions
You will operate with growing independence, take ownership of components, and contribute to team‑level engineering excellence.
About the teamThe Agent Desktop team builds and operates the core tools used by eBay’s global customer support agents to deliver fast, accurate, and high‑quality customer experiences. These applications are central to how agents interact with customers and internal systems, directly impacting agent productivity and customer satisfaction at scale.
What You’ll DoBuild and develop desktop applications and features using C#, .NET, and WPF
Build intuitive, efficient user‑facing workflows for support agents
Connect desktop applications to backend systems through REST/SOAP APIs (JSON/XML)
Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high‑quality releases
Identify, fix, and resolve issues across UI, service integration, and performance layers
Participate in code reviews, build discussions, and Agile ceremonies
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, QA, and global engineering teams
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and release processes
Continuously improve system reliability, maintainability, and performance
Technical Execution
Delivers well‑scoped features independently with clean, maintainable code
Applies strong fundamentals in object‑oriented building, debugging, and testing
Shows expertise in C#, .NET, and desktop application development
Builds solutions with attention to performance, usability, and reliability
Owns components or features end‑to‑end with minimal supervision
Provides reliable estimates and delivers results in an Agile environment
Proactively identifies risks, dependencies, and technical gaps
Breaks down moderately complex problems into manageable solutions
Solves problems effectively across UI, services, and data layers
Uses structured debugging and data‑driven approaches to resolve issues
Communicates clearly with engineering, product, and QA partners
Actively participates in team discussions, code reviews, and build sessions
Works effectively with multi‑functional and distributed teams
Writes clean, testable, and well‑documented code
Follows guidelines in version control, CI/CD, and code quality
Contributes to improving team processes and development standards
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
4–8 years of software development experience
Solid background in C#, .NET, and WPF for desktop application development
Experience working with and incorporating REST/SOAP APIs (JSON/XML)
