Lifeguard

Responsibilities

• Enforcing pool rules and regulations, in order to prevent accidents and injuries. The lifeguard must also be able to identify potential hazards and take steps to mitigate them.
• Providing emergency care; in the event of an accident or injury, the lifeguard must be able to provide immediate care, including first aid and CPR.
• Monitoring patrons; the lifeguard must constantly observe the pool area to identify potential hazards and prevent accidents and injuries.
• Responding to emergencies quickly and effectively; the lifeguard must understand the facility’s emergency procedures and execute them flawlessly.
• Responsible for creating, maintaining, and improving health, safety, and environmental standards in the pool area.
• Reviewing accidents and suggesting measures to prevent similar future incidents.
• Conducting regular safety inspections to identify and eliminate potential hazards in the pool area.
• Conducting training and education about safe pool systems to educate employees on safe practices and prevent harm.
• Managing pool safety documentation, including incident reports, inspection reports, and training records.
