Skill Bridge Fixed‑Wing PIC Pilot Military Fellowship (Multiple Locations)

Global Medical Response (GMR) offers U.S. military service members the opportunity to gain civilian work experience in the medical response industry through the Department of Defense Skill Bridge program. During the final six months of active‑duty service, participants receive skilled employment training. The program lasts up to 180 days; participants retain their military pay and benefits and receive no compensation from GMR.
Eligibility- Current active‑duty U.S. service member
- Meets DoD Skill Bridge qualifications
- Available for up to 180 days
- Unit commander approval (04 or above) with the right to terminate participation if mission requirements dictate
- 7/7 schedule at most locations
- 24‑hour base housing provided at most locations
While completion of the Skill Bridge program does not guarantee employment, newly hired GMR/Guardian Flight pilots may expect the following benefits (subject to experience and aircraft):
- Base salary ranging from $91,167.60 to $, or higher
- 0%–70% geographic modifier depending on assignment
- $15,000 sign‑on bonus and $40,000 retention bonus after 3 years at all locations
Ensures all operations involving company aircraft comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, Guardian Flight EMS Operations Manual, and all state and municipal regulations.
Responsibilities- Operate the aircraft safely and efficiently, with emphasis on compliance with the Fixed Wing Flight Manual
- Monitor weather forecasts and current conditions
- Conduct preflight inspections prior to shift start or transport acceptance; document discrepancies in the engineering log and notify maintenance of corrective actions
- Report as rested and prepared for duty, maintaining awareness of weather and forecast changes throughout the shift
PC‑12 Experience (Line Pilot)
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed‑wing hours
- 1,000 PIC hours
- 500 cross‑country hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours (with at least 50 actual)
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C‑ASEL) required
- Willing and able to obtain ATP within 5 years of employment
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license
- High school diploma or better
KING AIR C90/B200 Experience (Line Pilot)
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed‑wing hours
- 1,000 PIC hours
- 500 cross‑country hours
- 500 multi‑engine hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours (with at least 50 actual)
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C‑AMEL) required
- Willing and able to obtain ATP within 5 years of employment
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license
- High school diploma or better
LEAR 45 Experience (PIC)
- 4,000 fixed‑wing hours
- 1,000 turbine hours
- 500 crew environment hours
- EMS flight experience preferred
- ATP‑ME required
- Willing and able to obtain ATP within 5 years of employment
- FAA First Class Medical (6 months)
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license
- High school diploma or better
