Job Summary
This position helps foster self‑reliance and provide humanitarian aid by operating a heavy‑duty truck–tractor with a semi‑trailer to haul commodities for the Welfare Self‑Reliance Department and General Church throughout the United States and Canada.
Under the direction of the driver manager and in compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). the incumbent performs daily vehicle inspections, simple maintenance, safety training, route planning, and follows Federal Hours of Service guidelines to deliver on‑time. The driver may be deployed to disaster areas for extended weeks to distribute emergency response supplies.
Responsibilities- 80% Driving Tractor/Trailer
- 10% Loading and unloading trailers
- 4% Performing safety checks, completing safety training, recording driving hours and duty status
- 3% Completing required shipping documents and entering data into electronic fleet management systems
- 2% Refueling the vehicle
- 1% Cleaning the vehicle
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Class “A” commercial driver license (CDL).
- International Passport (required for travel to Canada).
- Complete driver qualification file including current motor‑vehicle record.
- Ability to pass random drug tests.
- Valid medical certificate.
- Physically capable of heavy lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, stooping, and sitting for extended periods.
- Basic computer and mobile phone proficiency for safety training and data entry.
- Ability to represent the Church with a positive image in all interactions.
- Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints and currently temple worthy.
- 2 years of commercial driving experience.
- Hazmat, tanker, and double trailer endorsements.
- Forklift and Pallet Jack certifications.
