ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Warehouse Assistant will work closely will receiving and assembly to ensure safe receiving and moving of materials within the plant while supporting the assembly area. Will also ensure the safe transportation of materials throughout the assembly operation including receiving, in process, final product, and bagging operations.
- Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries
- Moving materials to designated area
- Moving material to assembly area
- Moving finished product to bagging area
- Bagging and loading of finished product
- Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory
- Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting daily inspection and completing logs and report any needs
- Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, correct incorrect deliveries, and record any RDRs (receiving discrepancies reports) to ensure rapid return and replacement of materials
- Take down, move, and erect pallet racking
- Assist in Facilities maintenance, drilling, moving, cleaning, etc.
- Maintaining mobile equipment
- Entering receipts in an MRP system
- Tracking on time deliveries
- Delivery of product to line
- Perform cycle counts
- Participate in inventory count
Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
Job ComplexityWorks on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
SupervisionNormally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
ABOUT YOU- 18yrs of age
- Able to pass fork truck driving test
- 2 to 3 years previous warehouse work driving mobile equipment
- Experience with MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, Email.
- Previous data entry experience
- Basic understanding of math
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
EducationHigh school diploma or GED required.
Driving RecordValid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
GENERAL WORK ENVIRONMENT- Warehouse and assembly area setting
- Will be required to get on and off mobile equipment
- May occasionally work outside in the elements
- Will be required to wear a hard hat, safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves
- May occasionally be subject to load or dirty conditions
- Some time spent entering data at a desk or walking a large facility performing inventory or cycle counts
