Shipping Confirming Specialist

Job Summary:

The Shipping Confirming Specialist is responsible for accurately preparing, verifying, and confirming outbound shipments before they leave the facility. This position helps ensure customer orders contain the correct products, quantities, labels, and shipping information by following established procedures and performing final shipment checks.

This role also supports daily warehouse operations including picking, packing, loading, unloading, inventory movement, and order fulfillment. The position is physically demanding and requires frequent walking, lifting, moving product, and standing throughout the workday while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping Confirmation

• Verify shipping labels, customer information, and package contents before shipment.
• Confirm products and quantities match customer orders using shipping paperwork and barcode scanners.

• Ensure packages are labeled correctly and prepared for shipment.
• Notify a supervisor of shipping discrepancies or damaged products before orders are released.
• Complete shipment confirmation within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) as required.
• Ensure packages are accurately sorted to carrier identified on parcel.

Shipping & Order Fulfillment

• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders according to company procedures.
• Operate autobag equipment and other packaging equipment as trained.
• Prepare packages for parcel and freight shipments.
• Assist with shipping retail and bulk customer orders.
• Maintain productivity while meeting daily shipping schedules.

Warehouse Operations

• Receive, move, stage, and stock finished goods and warehouse materials.
• Load and unload trucks safely.
• Assist with inventory counts and report inventory discrepancies.
• Keep warehouse storage locations organized and clean.
• Follow FIFO and inventory control procedures.

Quality & Safety

• Inspect products and packaging for visible damage before shipment.
• Follow cGMP, GMP, safety, and company procedures.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Wear required PPE and follow all warehouse safety practices.

General Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with other warehouse team members.
• Maintain regular attendance and dependable work performance.
• Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
• Participate in cross-training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use barcode scanners.
• Ability to accurately read shipping labels, work orders, and product information in English.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 45 pounds
  .
• Occasionally lift materials weighing up to 75 pounds with team assistance or approved material handling equipment.
• Frequently walk throughout the warehouse during the entire shift.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, and perform repetitive movements.
• Push and pull carts, pallets, and warehouse materials using pallet jacks and other approved equipment.
• Work in varying warehouse temperatures while meeting productivity expectations.
