Social Studies Teacher; FTE Eastlake High School

Overview

Eastlake High School is looking for qualified candidates to fill a Social Studies Teacher 1.0 FTE position for the  school year. This is a continuing position. A building administrator will contact you directly if you are selected for an interview.

Position Summary:

Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and committed social studies educator to join our faculty as a full-time teacher. This role involves teaching history and/or social studies courses to students in grades 9–12 and requires high expectations for academic achievement matched with high levels of support. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment and is passionate about guiding young people through inquiry-based, analytic learning.

• Design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons.
• Cultivate a supportive, inclusive classroom culture where all students feel safe, valued, and empowered to learn.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues to plan curriculum, align assessments, and support school-wide goals.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and tailor instruction to individual needs.
• Build strong, caring relationships with students, promoting both academic and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Embrace and model the Eastlake credo in daily interactions and professional conduct.

Required:

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a History or Social Studies endorsement.
• A deep commitment to student-centered teaching, inclusion, and equity.
• Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• A passion for social studies education and meaningful student relationships.

Preferred:

• Experience working with high school students (ages 14–19).
• Familiarity with Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to a school culture where everyone feels at home.
