Starting Hourly Wage: $21 per hour, plus a monthly bonus for achieving budgeted occupancy targets.

Purpose:
To provide personal care and assist in monitoring the well‑being and the environment of the residents receiving assisted living services.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Director of Resident Care Services
- Minimum of 1 year previous experience working with seniors in a long‑term care setting.
- Must maintain an Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Care Aide (HCA) license.
- Nurse Delegation and Diabetes certification are preferred.
- Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials.
- Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials.
- Must maintain annual Continuing Education Credits.
- Ability to take blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and O2 Stat or ability to learn.
- Must enjoy working with seniors.
- Commitment to high quality standards and service.
- Skilled at working with teams and effective communication techniques (oral and written).
- Skilled at building positive relationships with residents.
- Ability to maintain resident privacy and confidentiality.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with residents, family members and team members.
- Must be able to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other team members.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
- Must meet all health‑related requirements pertaining to state licensure.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Subject to pre‑employment screening including physical, drug and TB testing and criminal background check.
- Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
- Able to pass other necessary tests if required by state regulations.
- Reviews and understands all resident individual service plans.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and ambulation, as specified in residents’ individual service plans.
- Engages residents in meaningful conversation and socialization while providing personal care and medication assistance.
- Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary.
- Always upholds Residents’ Rights.
- Observes residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, and social condition, unusual symptoms, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse and/or supervisor.
- Supports and upholds all company policies and care philosophy.
- Report all change of condition, behavior changes in a timely manner so it can be documented as soon as possible.
- Completes all forms to include but not limited to incident reports, and written and computerized documentation, as necessary for communication of resident information with other members of the Resident Care Team and with the licensed nurses and Executive Director.
- Maintaining accurate and complete records of care delivered. At the start of each shift conducting visual safety check on all residents and at the end of each shift, effectively communicate (written or verbal) resident status with the next shift.
