Overview

This role requires a detail‑driven artisan with a strong foundation in both technical repair and aesthetic finishing, capable of setting a wide variety of gemstones and executing complex restorations. The ideal candidate is steady‑handed, solutions‑focused, and dedicated to mastering their craft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gemstone Setting
    • Expertly set diamonds and colored stones using techniques such as prong, bezel, pave, channel, and flush.
    • Work under magnification to ensure security, alignment, and presentation of stones.
  • Metal Finishing
    • Polish and finish platinum, gold, and other fine metals to high polish, brushed, matte, or specialty textures.
    • Remove surface imperfections and restore brilliance to both new and vintage pieces.
  • Jewelry Repair
    • Perform ring sizing, prong re‑tipping, soldering, stone tightening, clasp and chain repair.
    • Diagnose issues and deliver precision repair work with sensitivity to both aesthetics and structural integrity.
  • Laser Welding
    • Execute delicate repairs using a laser welder to protect heat‑sensitive stones and detailed components.
  • Quality Control & Improvement
    • Maintain uncompromising standards for quality, symmetry, and craftsmanship.
    • Participate in internal critiques and learning opportunities.
    • Embrace feedback and contribute to a studio culture of ongoing learning and technical growth.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5+ years of hands‑on experience as a bench jeweler in fine jewelry.
  • Advanced skills in gemstone setting and metal finishing.
  • Proven expertise in fine jewelry repair, including antique restoration.
  • Laser welder proficiency.
  • Strong visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • Growth mindset with a commitment to continual skill development.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GIA or JA certification, or formal bench jeweler training.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM workflows and custom fabrication.
  • Background in a luxury retail or bespoke jewelry environment.
