A day in the life of a Construction Worker:

At Samaritan's Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other, our staff, and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of a Construction Worker, you will have the opportunity to:

* Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him

* Work jointly with the Project Superintendent, Construction Foremen, and Logistics Coordinators to construct and/or repair homes in the affected area

* Work with and lead volunteers

* Work with other construction workers and hired subcontractors when needed

* Ensure the quality of each project is maintained to the highest possible standard

* Provide safety training and general project training for team members at the job site and ensure all work is done according to safety standards

* Maintain security of all materials and equipment at job sites

* Ensure quality and adherence to Samaritan's Purse policies from hired subcontractors

* Inspect all jobs, ensuring work is performed per federal, state, and local laws and codes

* Communicate and minister to homeowners and partners, keeping them informed of the team's work and projected needs

* All other duties as assigned

Qualifications &

Experience:

* One-year certificate from college or technical school and six (6) months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Ability to obtain a drivers medical card (required)

* Trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, roofing, framing, and finish carpentry) (preferred)

* Class A Commercial Drivers License (preferred)

* Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of residential home construction, from layout and foundation work to final inspection
