Job Description
Leisnoi Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Site Superintendent to manage day‑by‑day production and schedule adherence on project sites. The Superintendent will handle quality control, subcontractor coordination, and safety compliance. The role requires flexible hours, including weekends and more than 40 hours per week.
Position SummaryThe Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating all construction activities, ensuring schedule adherence, quality workmanship, and safety compliance. This includes supervising field personnel, maintaining construction schedules, addressing schedule issues, and collaborating closely with the Project Manager on progress and costing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
- Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
- Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
- Has a thorough knowledge of the plans, drawings, and specifications for each project assigned.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Ensures all workers and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
- Maintains an organized job site, including the construction office.
- Interviews, hires, and trains construction workers.
- Exercises control over rate of construction progress in order to complete construction project within time limits; schedules jobs and operations.
- Estimates materials and manpower needed for specific jobs.
- Leads inspection and commission of day‑to‑day construction work to enforce conformity to specifications.
- Leads daily plan of the day meetings with construction staff.
- Reviews the job schedule and cost breakdown, resolving all differences of opinion with Project Manager at the beginning of the job.
- Maintains a good relationship with the Project Manager, seeking assistance in scheduling of materials, equipment and subcontractors.
- Keeps the progress schedule current, reviews schedule status and job costs at least once each month with the Project Manager.
- Maintains inventory control over tools and equipment, ensuring tools are returned and equipment secured.
- Completes the daily construction report and submits to the Project Manager.
- Attends pre‑construction and construction meetings, taking notes on areas that may present a future problem and presenting to the Project Manager for consultation.
- Attends all technical meetings upon request to discuss job progress and problem areas.
- Maintains close communication with Project Manager on any unforeseen problems which may develop.
- Assists Project Manager in estimating percent completion of each item for monthly invoicing and of labor for each job cost report.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 years of construction experience serving as Site Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, or Project Manager.
- Experience working for the USACE, NAVFAC, DoE, or DoD (preferred).
- Familiarity with EM 385-1-1.
- Experience in hazard identification and safety compliance.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Sound administrative skills and well‑developed management skills.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.
- Problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and functional levels.
- Well‑developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
- Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.
- Must be able to work weekends and more than 40 hours per week.
- As assigned.
- This is a full‑time exempt position.
- Individuals must be able to lift 50 pounds and remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the workday, with capability to move within the field.
- Must be able to operate any field equipment used within the Construction Industry and traverse multiple terrain types in outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be able to position self in stoop, kneel, or crouch positions and wear full construction PPE.
- Must be able to enter confined spaces.
