Job Summary / DescriptionThis position supports the coordination of all university interactions with the Federal Aviation Administration through the Chief Pilot and serves as a backup to the Chief Pilot when needed. The role is also responsible for maintaining all required FAA records and documentation. As an instructor, this position teaches courses and serves as the instructor of record for multiple flight-related classes each term.
While flight instruction is provided by Skyline Aviation, responsibilities include managing associated coursework for three to four flight courses per semester and tracking student flight hours.

Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial aviation education.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations.
- Strong teaching skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills; capable of serving as a trusted point of contact with the FAA.
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and student success.
- Five (5) or more years of aviation experience.
- FAA ratings:
Commercial Pilot, Instrument rating, Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), and Certified Flight Instructor–Instrument (CFII). - Master’s degree in aviation-related field
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Must hold at least a second class medical certificate.
