Job Summary/Description
The David L. Hirschfeld Department of Engineering is looking for apassionate and dedicated individual to teach and develop curriculafor a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. The departmentcurrently hosts a BSME and BSCE program and is in the process of developing an M.S. in Civil Engineering program.
The teaching responsibilities will encompass both lecture and laboratory settings of civil engineering infrastructure systems inone or more of the areas of geotechnics, construction, or construction materials engineering. Applicants with abilities data science and an interest in collaborating with the university’sArtificial Intelligence Center or Excellence are encourage toapply.
In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded scholarly research program. Thiswill involve conducting applied research in an area of interest tothe candidate and securing funding to support these initiatives.
Advising undergraduate students and assisting with various studentclub activities will also be key aspects of this role.
The successful candidate will also serve on committees and provideother services to the department, college, and university.
Angelo State is a teaching-focused Institution and member of the Texas Tech University System. The department opened in fall 2015and is still in a growth phase.
This is a full-time tenure-track, nine-month, Assistant Professorposition.

- Record of or potential for scholarly work commensurate withlevel of appointment.
