Job Summary
The Internship & Career Outcomes Coordinator supports institutional goals related to experiential learning, student career readiness, and post-graduate success. This position plays a central role in the University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) by developing and expanding internship opportunities in collaboration with faculty, academic departments, and employer partners. The coordinator also leads efforts to capture and leverage First Destination Survey (FDS) data to track career outcomes, inform institutional decision‑making, and highlight student success.
InternshipDevelopment & Coordination
- Collaborate with faculty, department chairs, and academic leadership to identify and expand internship opportunities aligned with academic programs.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with employers, community organizations, and alumni to create new internship pipelines.
- Support faculty and departments in tracking internship placements and ensuring they meet academic and professional learning objectives.
- Provide students with guidance on preparing for and securing internships, including workshops, resources, and one‑on‑one advising.
- Develop systems and reporting tools to track student engagement in internships and measure progress toward QEP goals.
- Coordinate the administration, promotion, and reporting of the First Destination Survey to ensure robust student participation.
- Analyze and interpret survey results to assess student career outcomes and trends.
- Prepare reports and dashboards for campus stakeholders, accreditation requirements, and QEP assessment measures.
- Leverage career outcomes data to strengthen employer partnerships, grant proposals, and institutional reputation.
- Work with our QEP stakeholders to ensure all data and reporting is made available to them.
- Deliver presentations, training, and workshops for students, faculty, and staff on internships, career readiness, and outcomes.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that support student employability, experiential learning, and institutional QEP objectives.
- Stay current on trends in internships, experiential education, and career outcomes measurement.
- Increase student awareness on available career development resources and technologies.
- Work with GS1181 teachers to align content on career readiness and technology opportunities.
- Coordinate the administration of career awareness assessment in GS1181 courses.
Skills and Abilities
The Internship & Career Outcomes Coordinator should be familiar with higher education structures, experiential learning, and career readiness best practices. Strong communication, relationship‑building, and data analysis skills are essential, along with the ability to coordinate programs, deliver presentations, and support students in professional development. The role requires strategic thinking, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required; 2 years of relevant experience or working in higher education.
- Experience in career services, employer relations, experiential learning, or related areas.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting (experience with Handshake a plus).
- Master’s Degree preferred.
