The DLH Department of Engineering is looking for skilled, reliable, and self-motivated students to work as graders. Graders may work no more than 20 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters.
The purpose of the grader position is to assist faculty in grading.
Job Duties and Expectations- Proven, strong written and verbal communication and collaborative organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience with technology sufficient to help grade assignments.
- Evaluates student essays, projects, labs, tests, and other assessments.
- Maintains records on student progress/grades.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Graders must meet with their faculty members and agree on the following:
- Grading schemas and rubrics
- Grading mark-up
- Timeline for completing grades
- Access to assignments
Skills and abilities:
- Ability to communicate well with students and faculty
- Detail-oriented with excellent organization skills
- Exceptional time management skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of students
All student graders will be limited to no more than 20 hours per week. The goal is to complete grading in a timely manner. The graders will be supervised by the Director of Engineering Student Success Services in the DLH Engineering Department.
Required Qualifications
- Must have faculty recommendation for the position sent to the Director of Engineering Student Success Services
- Have taken and successfully passed the course for which they are grading.
- Be enrolled at ASU for the Fall semester
- Be in good standing with their academic department, residential housing, and Academic Affairs office.
- Be a positive representative of the university and the engineering department
- Must be self-motivated and have strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
